HYBE Delivers Record Quarter as Global Artist Activities Accelerate
HYBE posted the strongest quarterly results in its history after a surge in global artist activities helped push revenue above the ₩1 trillion mark for the first time.
The company announced Monday that it generated ₩1.45 trillion in revenue and ₩170.9 billion in operating profit during the second quarter of 2026, setting new quarterly records on both measures. It also became the first time HYBE exceeded ₩1 trillion in quarterly sales, while first-half revenue surpassed ₩2 trillion for the first time.
The results reflect a period in which many of HYBE’s artists returned with new music and resumed large-scale touring, allowing the company to benefit from multiple revenue streams beyond album sales.
Live Performances Became HYBE’s Biggest Growth Engine
Concerts emerged as HYBE’s largest source of revenue during the quarter, highlighting the growing importance of live entertainment in the company’s business model.
Concert revenue reached ₩647.7 billion, while album sales climbed to ₩326.8 billion, with both businesses setting new company records. Merchandise and licensing revenue also rose to an all-time high of ₩310.6 billion, supported by increased demand surrounding world tours and official fan products.
The company’s profitability also improved alongside revenue growth. Despite a significant increase in sales compared with the same period last year, HYBE maintained an operating margin of 11.8%, suggesting that expanding global activities translated into stronger earnings rather than simply higher costs.
Rather than depending on one blockbuster release, the latest results point to an increasingly diversified business model in which concerts, merchandise, licensing, and digital services contribute alongside traditional music sales.
BTS Returned as a Major Driver of Growth
BTS played an important role in HYBE’s record-breaking quarter following the group’s return to full-group activities earlier this year.

According to the company, BTS’s comeback album ARIRANG topped U.S. CD and vinyl sales tracked by Luminate, reinforcing demand for physical albums in one of the world’s largest music markets.
HYBE also credited the group’s ongoing world tour with driving strong demand across multiple business areas, including concerts, merchandise, and fan experiences. The company said the tour generated significant economic activity in host cities, illustrating the growing commercial impact of large-scale K-pop tours beyond the music industry itself.
The company further highlighted BTS’s appearance during the FIFA World Cup Final halftime show as another example of the group’s expanding global profile.
While BTS remained a major contributor, the latest earnings also suggest that HYBE’s overall performance no longer depends on a single act alone.
Multiple Labels Continued to Strengthen the Business
HYBE said every artist under HYBE Music Group released new music during the first half of 2026, contributing to strong performances across major international markets.
According to the company, HYBE artists accounted for five of the ten best-selling CD albums in the United States during the first six months of the year.
In South Korea, seven HYBE artists became million sellers on Circle Chart during the same period:
- BTS
- TOMORROW X TOGETHER
- ENHYPEN
- &TEAM
- BOYNEXTDOOR
- TWS
- CORTIS

The breadth of those results reflects the continued expansion of HYBE’s multi-label strategy, allowing the company to generate growth from several successful artists rather than relying primarily on a single flagship group.

KATSEYE and CORTIS Continued Building Momentum
HYBE also highlighted the rapid growth of several newer acts, with KATSEYE and CORTIS emerging as two of its strongest-performing artists outside the company’s established flagship groups.
KATSEYE continued expanding its global profile after winning three trophies at the 2026 American Music Awards. The group recently returned with a new single that showcased a broader musical direction as HYBE pushes further into international markets.
CORTIS, meanwhile, has quickly established itself as one of the company’s fastest-growing rookie acts. According to HYBE, the group’s first two mini albums—COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES and GREENGREEN—have sold a combined 5.25 million copies.
The company attributed part of that success to merchandise bundles packaged with physical albums, adding that demand for those products is expected to remain strong throughout the second half of the year.
HYBE also pointed to the collaborative digital single ICONIC BY MISTAKE, featuring LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE, as an example of its strategy to connect artists across different labels. The track has continued to gain traction on major streaming platforms, exposing each group to wider audiences while strengthening engagement across multiple fandoms.
Touring Is Expected to Remain a Key Revenue Driver
Live performances have become an increasingly important pillar of HYBE’s business as global demand for K-pop concerts continues to grow.
During the first half of 2026, artists under the company performed a combined 119 concerts. HYBE expects that figure to accelerate significantly during the remainder of the year, with more than 200 additional shows already scheduled—surpassing last year’s total concert volume.
Several major tours are already contributing to that momentum.
ENHYPEN recently expanded into South America for the first time, selling out stadium performances across the region. LE SSERAFIM is preparing to visit Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia following the release of its second full-length album.
BOYNEXTDOOR has launched its first world tour since debut, while KATSEYE’s upcoming tour has reportedly sold out several venues, leading to additional performances being added.
HYBE also noted that CORTIS has embarked on a world tour despite being only a year into its career, an unusually rapid achievement for a rookie act.
As touring activity expands, the company expects related businesses—including merchandise, licensing, and large-scale fan events such as The City—to continue generating additional revenue beyond ticket sales.
Weverse Continued to Reach Record Levels of Engagement
HYBE’s fan community platform Weverse also delivered another strong quarter as increased artist activity translated into higher fan engagement.
Monthly active users reached a record 14.43 million, extending the platform’s steady growth from the previous quarter.
Compared with the first quarter, total payment volume increased 12%, while average revenue per paying user rose 24%, reflecting stronger spending on memberships, exclusive content, and other digital services.
The results reinforce Weverse’s growing role within HYBE’s broader business strategy. Rather than serving only as a fan community, the platform has evolved into a significant revenue source that benefits from album releases, concert tours, and ongoing artist promotions.
As artists become more active, fan engagement increases, creating additional opportunities for memberships, commerce, and digital content—an ecosystem that extends well beyond traditional music sales.
Why This Matters
HYBE’s latest earnings illustrate how the company has evolved into a diversified global entertainment business rather than one built primarily around album sales.
While blockbuster releases remain an important part of the business, concerts, merchandise, licensing, fan experiences, and digital platforms now account for a growing share of revenue. That diversification helps reduce reliance on any single artist or release while creating multiple opportunities for long-term growth.
The results also reflect a broader shift across the K-pop industry. As physical album sales mature, entertainment companies are increasingly relying on global touring, direct-to-fan platforms, and intellectual property to drive profitability.
For HYBE, the latest quarter demonstrates that its multi-label strategy and expanding global footprint are allowing several artists to contribute meaningfully to growth at the same time.
What Happens Next
HYBE expects its momentum to continue through the second half of 2026 as more than 200 additional concerts are scheduled across its artist roster.
Upcoming world tours by BTS, LE SSERAFIM, ENHYPEN, BOYNEXTDOOR, KATSEYE, and CORTIS are expected to generate further revenue from ticket sales, merchandise, licensing, and fan engagement through Weverse.
The company also plans to continue expanding its digital ecosystem and international business while supporting new releases across multiple labels.
If current touring demand remains strong, HYBE appears well positioned to build on its strongest financial performance to date as it continues broadening its presence in the global entertainment market.
