Was Macron an ARMY Too? The French President and First Lady Spotted at BTS’ Paris Concert

Even the French President couldn’t miss the BTS concert.

BTS made their long-awaited return to France on July 17 (local time), and among the nearly 88,000 fans in attendance was an unexpected pair—French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.

According to French media outlets including CNEWS and Le Figaro, BTS kicked off their concert at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, just outside Paris. The performance marks the group’s first concert in France since 2019, drawing tens of thousands of fans from across Europe.

The biggest surprise of the night came when President Macron and the First Lady were spotted in the audience. As the couple appeared on the stadium’s giant screen during the concert, the crowd erupted into loud cheers. Videos shared across social media show the two smiling, waving, and even holding BTS light sticks while enjoying the performance.

Le Figaro noted that 2026 marks the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and France, suggesting that the presidential couple’s attendance could also be seen as a gesture of friendship and respect toward South Korea.

BTS will continue performing at Stade de France over the coming days. International media also reported that tickets sold out quickly, with fans facing fierce competition to secure seats for the group’s first French concerts in more than six years.
